i started having problems yesterday as well! i've tried all the trouble shooting tips, but imessage keeps prompting me for my apple ID password randomly and i can't get my phone number to show up on my mac or ipad. messages are also not syncing between devices.

all this was working until yesterday afternoon..

I'm also having the same problem with my ipad mini which I purchased a few days ago. It has been on and off. I have other apple devices but all messages and facetime are all working except for this. Very frustrating.
