Windows 7 driver for FaceTime HD camera

Hi,

I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Air (13-inch) on which I'm running a Windows 7 Pro virtual machine using Oracle's VirtualBox. That's all working fine but I need to use a webcam for a bit of software that will only run on Windows.

I've been able to share the built-in FaceTime HD camera through to the Windows VM which detects it and tries to install the device, but Windows doesn't have the required drivers.

I've done a few searches but keep coming across instructions for BootCamp (which I'm not using) or pages of random GoogleAds pretending to be links to drivers that dont' actually exist.

Does anybody know where I can pick up a compatible driver?

Thanks,

Joe

Thanks, I've been checking there too... but I don't have any problem with VirtualBox.

My problem is that there isn't an obvious (working) driver for 64-bit Windows 7 Pro to use the FaceTime HD Camera that came built in to my MacBook Air 5.2.

From what I can tell, people running under Parallels have exactly the same problem. It's an Apple/Microsoft issue, not a VBox or Parallels one.

VBox is able to pass the camera through to the VM and Windows does detect it and attempt to install drivers, but it doesn't find any and can't complete the config.

Searching Windows Update for drivers gives nothing.

I've manually extracted and installed AppleiSightInstaller64.exe from the BootCamp update for the MacBook Air 5.2 but Windows doesn't recognise the resulting drivers as valid for this device. Forcing the device to use them anyway gives an error:

Again, others have reported similar with both Parallels and VBox.
