why are my fingertips peeling from the ipad screen?
Ever since I got my IPAD a few months ago, my fingertips have been peeling. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue and what was the remedy?

Yes, in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor issue. I've had reactions to things that have resulted in my skin peeling. It's a completely non-life threatening but very annoying allergic reaction. It occurs in very few people. I'm very sorry it happened to you. But, it doesn't change the fact that the product is generally safe.

I have been having the same problem. My hands were so bad that it looked like I had a nasty disease. It was embarrassing. I tried lotions, fungal creams, and vitamin D! I saw the dermatologist a few times, who really could not figure out what it was and why it only affected certain fingers (never the pinkies) and came and went almost randomly. It was so bad on my right thumb and index finger where I rest my iPad that they would crack and bleed. I suspect my case was particularly bad because I am diabetic and thus do not heal as quickly. My boyfriend got an iPad, too, and his fingers start to peel after very little use, although he never had as bad of a problem as I did. I put a screen protector on two days ago and already my fingers are getting much better. A stylus didn't help because I still touched the iPad while holding it. Sometimes I would touch my eye and would start having problems there, too. I loved the slippery iPad screen, and I hate the screen protector, but at this point, I have no choice.
I have a similar problem. It first manifested with iPad Air and was solved by buying a cover. The problem was gone. A week ago I switched from Galaxy to iPhone 6s and here it comes again. See enclosed picture. It looks like I need to buy a cover for iPhone as well.
I was hoping that Apple stopped using this material in their new products but apparently it is not the case. Also wonder how such health related issues passed through product certification of local authorities and why Apple is not responding to this issue even if a small number of customers is affected.
I have not experienced this problem and have not seen anyone post on this previously.
The iPad screen does have an oleo phobic coating meant to repel the skin oils on your fingers. You just might be sensitive to this coating which is causing your problem.
Other than not using your iPad you could use a stylus or apply a screen protector over the top of your screen. Both types of products are commonly available.
Yeah I have this issue big-time. Only with my iPad - not any of my other touchscreen devices. Man, I thought I was going crazy or something - but it really seemed my fingers were peeling only when and where I was touching my iPad screen. Too weird.

There is probably no material on the planet that doesn't have a problematic effect on at least a small number of people. To suggest that manufacturers stop using a product that is generally safe because it may case a minor problem for a few people is perhaps unrealistic. I get migraines if exposed to certain fragrances. For me to expect that every cosmetic company in the world stop using them because I might be exposed to them is unreasonable.
I would also consider consulting an allergist or dermatologist.
Dear Friend, in the grand scheme of things everybody matters. If you develop something like this (hopefully not) it will probably be a minor issue for others who do not have it. Hope that you are not on Apple's payroll to produce such responses but just an Apple fanatic.

None of the above. She is just existing in the real world. You are looking in the wrong place for a solution. You need to see a dermatologist.

Did you read my post? I have had this problem, though it was caused by something else. I got over it. No lasting damage. In the future, check your facts before posting.
Use a stylus pen.
It has nothing to do with the screen itself. This reaction is caused by aluminum alloy body used in iPhone or iPad.
I did, several times as you could see above if you read my post. In the future, please speak for yourself and check the facts before posting anything here.
