No music on new ipod touch.

My old ipod touch was damaged (dropped and resulted in cracked screen) so i contacted apple and had it sent off. Before i sent it off i backed the ipod up and synced the ipod. I was given a replacement ipod from apple, and have opened itunes ready to restore it. I have restored the ipod and all pictures and purchased music are on there. I have also clicked sync on itunes, and it goes through the process of syncing, however no music I had on the previous ipod are not appearing on the new ipod. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help and suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated 🙂

- If you have iTunes set up correctly it should automatically transfer, or at least ask, if you want to transfer/copy iTunes purchases to the computer. Otherwise:

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

- To transfer/copy non-iTunes purchases you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
