Also, is there a program for Mac that is comparable to Microsoft Publisher? I need to make brochures.
Apple doesn't make anything that really can be used for that.
The free LibreOffice is ok, Win, Linux and OS X versions is wonderful, but it's not dedicated to desktop publishing.
You can install Creative Suite 2 and use InDesgin for free (only for 10.6 and only if your willing to accept no more patches) it's like a way to get people hooked on it and hopefully to purchase CS6 when they upgrade their machines that come with OS X 10.8 later.

Adobe is likely testing the market this way by how many people download it for free.
It doesn't "phone home" or anything, it works perfectly and Indesign is the industry standard software.
If you have trouble printing, print to PDF and then print that from Preview.
There is Ready Set Go! No 10.7 or later OS X versions

Warning if you upgrade OS X past 10.6.8 your PPC software will no longer work!

Mar 19, 2013 5:34 PM in response to KDM1017by BobHarris,I use a flash drive to back up information. Is there a way, other than the copy/drag method to backup all the information at one time?
You could use a utility such as Carbon Copy Cloner to backup just the files you want to your FlashDrive.
You would select your source, then uncheck all the highest level folders you do not want copied, and drill down in the folder where you stuff lives to make sure just the stuff you want backed up is selected.
Then you select a destination which is your FlashDrive.
Finally Click "Schedule this task..." and choose "Run this task: When source or destination is reconnected"
Now when you plug in your FlashDrive, Carbon Copy Cloner will backup all the files which have changed since your last backup.
