Q: At start-up,

my macbook pro takes 3 minutes to boot up because it is opening 5 other applications. What's with this? This began after taking in to apple care.

MacBook Pro, iOS 6.1.2

    Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see something relevant is listed.

     

    Highlight the App that is opening & click the tiny minus icon to remove it from the list.
