how do i obtain a PUK code for my Ipad (and yes that is what my Ipad is asking for)

I own 64bit Ipad. One day I turned it on and it said "Enter a PUK code". I don't have any idea what this means, I just know my Ipad has been inoperable since.

There is no carrier, it's not a phone. Just Wi-Fi. I have wasted SO much time trying to get this resolved I am ready to throw this thing in the drink. No help from Apple, there is no "carrier", so ***????!!!!! Feels like a $900 rip off right now. I am not a general Mac or Itunes user, bought this Ipad as an experiment for EHR in my medical office, where it could have been a very handy tool. I don't want to loose all of the medical information already downloaded, and Itunes doesn't recognize it when I plug it in to my laptop.

I have removed the Sims card, then the picture of a USB cable pointing to the Itunes icon appears. Itunes and the Ipad don't seem to recognize each other from the same device that I've updated on before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm really upset that Apple wants to charge me to tell me how to fix it, when it was as simple as me turning it off one day, and getting this message the next, ya know???!!!!

If you have a SIM card that means you have a carrier. You said you removed the sim car which means you have a SIM card. The company the SIM card belongs to has blocked you device for some reason. Most of the time they only do this if the device is reported stolen. Apple wouldn't charged you money for a PUK code if you bought your iPad from them.

My laptop that I have been using to update with my Ipad doesn't recognize it when they are connected any longer. I have gone through the steps you sent above and Itunes still doesn't recognize the Ipad.

I have removed and re-installed Itunes, and have also removed the SIM card so at least I don't get that PUK code error. Although at this point if someone could just give me a PUK code it would be a lot easier to solve my problem:::Sigh::::.

Apple store is over an hour away and most people won't touch these products. Now I'm seeing why. This "seems" like it should be an easy fix, but 2 days later after reading a dozen manuals and trying a million things, I'm not sooner to solving this than when I started.

Thanks for your time and any help is apprecitated!

If you are seeing the usb and itunes logo on your screen, then the device needs to be restored via itunes on a computer.

Hopefully, you've been syncing and backing up your data to either itunes or a computer so you can retrieve all your content.

The only one that can issue a PUK code is a carrier, which you've already made clear you don't have.

If itunes does not recognise your ipad that may be another issue. What version OS is on your computer and what steps did you follow to uninstall itunes and then reiinstall itunes on your computer?

And, do you at least see the sidebar on the left hand side of itunes?

Do you have another computer you can try?
