adding instruments Logic Pro 9

It sounds like you need to download the Additional content.... as you probably haven't done so.

Go to Logic Pro's menu bar and click on Logic Pro/Download Additional Content and select the extra stuff you need... Be aware the complete download of all the additional content is about 18GB so it can take a while to complete.

As ArtofSound has already posted, you need to:

a) start Logic

b) go to the Logic Pro menu

c) Use the Download additional content function (3rd item in the menu)

d) download the rest of the content (about another 12+GB worth)

Just to clarify (Because this does seem to confuse some people)

You must start Logic Pro. Once Logic is up and running.,..

Then you go to the Menu Bar at the top of the screen and click on the 'Logic Pro' Menu Item

In the drop down menu that will appear you will see an entry called 'Download Additional Content'

Click on that and select everything in the windown that opens...

Now see back and wait while it downloads all the additional content.. depending on your Internet speed it could take a while so be patient..

Once this is done, you will find all the missing presets, instruments, Apple Loops and other content... in Logic.

Make sure Logic Pro is running so you can see the main arrange window.

Now look at the menu Bar at the top of the screen... As Cowboy Bill rightly said, you should see a Symbol of an Apple in the top left of the menu Bar and then next to it the words Logic Pro which you need to left click on. That will bring down a drop down menu full of items, one of which will be Download Additional Content, which again you need to left click on.

If to the right of the Apple Symbol you see the word Finder instead of Logic Pro, left click anywhere in the main Arrange window of Logic to change the menu bar from Finder's menu bar to Logic Pro's...

No, it probably means that you are running a version of Logic before 9.1.6 (?)

When you have correctly downloaded all the content the menu option is still there.

keystrike was 'hijacking' your thread and asking a different question, to which CCT answered...

If that menu item doesn't appear then the version of Logic being run is earlier than 9.1.5

In your case you were running a later version of Logic so that menu item was there.. and as you said, you just wasn't clicking in the right place 🙂

this was so easy to find with your help that i almost feel dumb that i didn't find it on my own when i was familiarizing myself with the program. I spent countless hours online searching for AU's i'd actually use and downloaded a ton i never will, i wish i would have know about this from day one.

Between the apple icon and the word file you should see the words Logic Pro. Click on that. Its the second one from the left.

If "Download additional content" does not appear in the menu, does that mean all additional content has been loaded?
