My iMac Early 2008 won't start up

So here's the background info:

  • Last night, I updated my iMac to 10.8.3. I also had to update iBoostUp, but since I downloaded it on my UK account(Long story short- I used to live in the UK, now I Live in Ireland), I just deleted iBoostUp and thought of downloading it the next day, because I was tired.
  • this morning, I downloaded iBoostUp and thought of doing a quick clean.
  • Before I did, I looked through my Startup Items, and unticked hide Apple launch items.
  • One of the Startup Items I saw was Tcdd, which is used to startup Refog Personal Monitor, which I Deleted (With AppCleaner) few months ago.
  • I deleted the LaunchAgent+ The Coreservice framework for the app(com.apple.tcdd.plist)
  • When I did that, I continued with the Quick Clean and my Finder coulldn't empty the trash, and it was frozen.
  • Tried to relaunch Finder, but now it couldn't open after 5 minutes. Then it opened.
  • iBoostUp froze while cleaning the last of its' System Cache.
  • Finder Froze-Again 😟
  • I took out the plug and tried to start it up again. It couldn't get past the Apple Logo.

Can it get past Normal Boots? No.

Can it get past Safe Boots? No.

Can it Boot up The Install Disk(10.5.3)? No.

But it can get to Recovery Mode.

I've verified the Disk, no problems. Disk Permissions-repaired.

I can't even Re-install the OS (ML) because I got it my friend who had it booted on a thumb drive.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), 2GB Ram

Try this:

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.

When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.

Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Same here with 10.8.3 update on early 2009 iMac ... solved downloading and reinstalling all again.

In my case was wiffi that would not connect so I could not reinstall after Recovery disk use to correct permissions and make a disk check. Reinstalled ML from USB drive where I saved it when downloaded first time.

After installation i recovered all with TMachine but now i am using CCC to clone my Hard Drive, so, next time an update crashes my System i need only to clone the disk to get it back.
