What is the easiest way to create a 1/2 page flyer so that when it is printed out it will be on 1/2 a page? I know I could create TWO 1/2 pages, side by side on an 8 1/2 x 11 template, but I thought I'd check to see if there is a trick to printing out 1/2 page flyers.

So if I create the flyer on 1/2 the page, when I print it I just go to menu > print > layout > pages per sheet 2 and it will just print 2 of the same 1/2 page on an 8 1/2 x 11 ???
Edit: Okay, I guess my printer won't do that. I have a 1/2 of 8 1/2 x 11 flyer designed. I went to the menu and chose Print > nothing under Layout, just color matching, paper handling, cover page, scheduler -- but below that is the "PAGES per sheet". When I check 2, it doesn't show 2 of my 1/2 page flyers, but takes the 1/2 page and puts it up in a corner smaller than the original -- almost like a quarter page.
No. If you have a full size flyer it will reduce it to fit 2 up on the page.
The process is not a simple reduction however, it fits within the printing margins of the paper, with a little fudge factor thrown in.
Do a test with a simple box of known dimension to see what happens.
I doubt your printer "doesn't do it". OSX is doing the smarts. With Layout selected, Pages per Sheet appears immediately under Layout. All the things you list are alternative options to Layout. The options are the same for my Inkjet, Laser and Adobe PDF 8.0.

Ohhhhhhh, :( and here I worked for hours to make it 1/2 page and thought there was a way to duplicate it for the other side.
I tried copy and paste, but it doesn't transfer the text boxes -- only images. But I asked that Q in another thread.
As was explained you used a Word Processing template so you can't copy/dupe the text areas along with their inline images.
Restart your design with a blank Layout template, they are listed in the sidebar of the Template Chooser.
You will need to create Textboxes to put your text in, but then you will be able select all of the design, text & images, and copy/paste or option shift drag it to the second half of the page.

A Word Processing template? I am using Pages. I started with a blank template. Oh, okay, I know what I did. I needed a WIDE not TALL page, and if I choose a blank template, I can't have a WIDE copy. The blank ones are only TALL. So I chose a WIDE template and then deleted page 2, kept page 1, and then created my design on 1/2 the page (the left half). Now I'm trying to duplicate it on the right half so I have two of the same 1/2 page flyers that I can print and cut.
Yeah, sorry. I was kind of asking two different questions and didn't want to confuse the issue by asking how to create a 1/2 page, and then how to copy a 1/2 page. But I see I HAVE confused the issue.
