Mar 19, 2013 6:12 PM in response to RBSSPHRby Frank Caggiano,You are looking in the correct place in Automator right? Have you tried selecting the Library and searching for extract?
If it still fails to show up the easiest thing to do is to re-load the OS. As an overwrite install none of your user files or settings will be changed and youll get a fresh copy of Automator (as well as everything else )
If it still does not show up after post back.

Dec 2, 2013 9:37 AM in response to GoranJby Tony T1,There's a python tool called PDFMiner that you can d/l from https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pdfminer/
Install Instructions: http://www.unixuser.org/~euske/python/pdfminer/#install
As this is run via a python script (pdf2txt.py), you can use the Automator Action "Run Shell Script" to run it.

Dec 2, 2013 9:42 AM in response to Tony T1by Tony T1,FWIW, the Apple Automator Action is located in /System/Library/Automator/ so it is definitely part of the Mavericks OS installation. (The date of the file is 08/25/13)

Dec 2, 2013 12:17 PM in response to GoranJby red_menace,You have your Automator library arranged by application - in that case you would need to look under the application providing the action, which is Preview.
