My contacts have magically disappeared!!

Hi All

Two days ago my contacts just disapeared!!

I only have contacts with email address now! No numbers..

icloud backs everything up every night and iv noticed my ipad has lost all the same contacts..

All my texts are still there however the contacts have gone and just show there numbers! I can't restore from a previous back up with iTunes as that was the 28/10/12 ! Since then iv had iCloud backing up !

How do I get my contacts back??
