Battery Problems Macbook pro 2011

Hi there.

I have a macbook pro early 2011 (March 2011).

The battery recently is failing. It's now 13% (922mAh) of its original capacity of 6,900mAh. There has been only 331 cycles and barely 2 years old.

I calibrate the battery about once a month.

Would like to verify if this is a valid claim on Apple Care.

I'm not that techy.... Thanks for all the help 🙂

PS: last week I noticed that the battery was 20% of its original capacity....

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

A battery on a 2011 MBP does not have to be calibrated. You just add a needless cycle to the battery and reduce its useful life.

One would think that you should get more life from the battery than what you have experienced. However the final decision will be made by the people at Apple.

Batteries are the least reliable components of a MBP. Some batteries can pack it in prematurely whereas a month or so ago a user reported a battery that was approaching 2000 cycles.

It never hurts to ask so I suggest an appointment at an Apple genius bar and see what they have to say.

Ciao.
