I have an IPhone 4 and MacBook and I'm looking everywhere I can think of to see if antivirus software is needed on either of these products. Also, I need to know if defragging is needed as well? I'm new to apple products and I just want to make sure I take care of both.

Antivirus on the Mac is your choice, I haven't used it in years. Defragging is unnecessary
As long as you do not jailbreak your iPhone you do not need to worry. The only app close to antivirus on the iPhone scans email attachments which could not affect your iPhone. It is a waste of money.
