wifi is grayed out? tried all steps any ideas?

I've had my iphone for about 6 months now and had loved it. however about a week ago I updated it and now the wifi is grayed out. I've done all the steps. And called my phone company and apple three times. twice of which i was told to get a call back and received none. Does any one have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
