Error 102 update 10.8.3

After all I read concerning the OSX update to version 10.8.3 and following suggestions, I still get a time-out error 102. I've cleaned the cache, I've tried different browsers but nothing seems to help. Does anyone recognise this error and have an explenation or solution?

Best regards,

Matt

Ralph, the 102 error manifests itself when download via App Store. Can't believe I entered a wrong user ID or password since everything else is downloadable (tried downloading a free program). When I download the update at the suggested site, it hangs at 349,3MB of 832,2MB. I'm using Safari. I've waited about a half an hour but the progress bar stands rock steady at 349,3MB. Tried also to download using Google and Mozilla. The same...

When it hangs, how long do you let it sit there? When I downloaded the Combo package, the first day it was out which is always bad, the time remaining kept bouncing around from under an hour to as much as 10 hours. I just let it sit until it downloaded the file. I think it ended up taking just over an hour. But it did download.

The App Store issue, the 102 error could be a refusal on the part of the server for some reason, system load, etc., which will eventually cause a time-out error message. In theory, we all know how much that is worth, the system should tell you why connection has been refused. Doesn't always work out, though.

Unless the Combo download is stalling for a really long time, I would let it work at downloading for a while, as long as you have time to let it go.

There once was an ability to pause a download and resume later...see if you can do that if it is taking too long.

It hangs until I switch off the laptop. The 20 minutes you see is just the begin of a long and fruitless session. This is the first time I encounter this kind of problem. I can understand that the download service is for those who have an AppleID and password. What I don't understand is why the download starts, downloads a fair piece and than hangs. I just give it up. I'll wait for the next update and see if that one works. By the way: the update just previous of this one (java update) worked like a charm.
