Charging mac on inverter.

Hi , just wanted to know if it is safe to charge the macbook pro on inverter power? does it affect the battery or other components?

Also suppose we have a charging point that is otherwise connected to inverter. during power cut the power supply comes from inverter but during normal time does the power still come from inverter or regular electricity or voltage comes into the power/chargin point??

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

I have used my MBP with inverters many times. Though I have used primarily pure sine wave inverters, I have been connected to modified sine wave inverters as well. I have never detected any ill affects from either source.

Regarding the issue of inverter power and utility power when connected to an inverter, it all depends upon how the inverter is designed. Some will switch to the utility input if it detects that there is power coming from that source, others will not.

Ciao.
