Q: Need to link my iPad 2 to my HP ENVY 100 printer for wireless printing

The HP Envy 100 does not appear to be AirPrint enabled so you must use a third-party solution like Printopia. Printopia and other software like it, essentially creates a print server on your computer that your iPad can connect to. Your computer must be on and both it and the printer must share the same wireless network.

Deggie, you're right. My mistake. Though unless I've missed it entirely, HP doesn't mention it here.

Doesn't surprise me but that was HPs first Airprint printer.
