after 48 hours why is my app still "waiting" to install?

After 48 hours my iPod says a purchased app is still "waiting" and will not resume or finish downloading. I have reinstalling from the iPod and still nothing. Shut down, restarted, and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated! 🙂
