I am trying to play euchre online and it says java is not installed after performing a check. I re-installed java twice, restarted my computer and browser and will still not run. Running latest version of safari and osx. I have made sure java is enabled in preferences and safari preferences.

Game site i am trying to access:

What version are you running?  You need the latest Java 1.7 version from Oracle.  I think it's Java 7 update 17.

i already had 7-17 and re-installed it twice so that definitely isn't the problem. sorry i probably should've specified that.

I am having the same problem. I even re-installed the whole OSX, but issue persists. I have realized that issue doen't occur on firefox...but on Safari it's still running.

    Any ideas?

Thanks and sorry for any misspeling.

    I find that

Under either OSX 10.8.3 or 10.7.5, Java 7-17 runs under Firefox 19.02.

Under either OSX 10.8.3 or 10.7.5, Java 7-17 does not run under Safari 6.0.3.

Under either OSX 10.8.3 or 10.7.5, Java 7-17 does not run under Chrome 25.x (Chrome is 32 bit, Java is 64 bit only).

    Maybe these will help:

    Java

    Java (2)

    Java 6 Enable

Hey Eric, thanks for your reply. At least, in my case, that didn't help a lot. What we want to do here is make Java 7 Update 17 available on safari(which is not occurring right now). We don't want to remove the Oracle's plugin, nor "enable" that on safari(that's already done).

    Thanks a lot,

    Vinicius

Add me to the Pogo bandwagon. I just ran the latest system update today and when I restarted none of the sites I visited on Safari were able to see Java. I too did the multiple downloads, cleared cookies, cache, Java cache...you name it. I couldn't even use the java detect version site...it couldn't find anything.

I'm guessing this is a known issue by now for Safari Version 6.0.3. What I want to know is what can be done to make Java and Safari talk again...recommend a good therapist because I'm going into game withdrawal!;)

I too did the same as Moliver4u.  I did a clean install of Jave version 7. 17 and pogo games will not recognize Java.

I bought this 27" imac about a month ago and gave my daughter my old imac with snow leopard.  I wish I had that machine back.  I'm not liking Mountain Lion.  Does anyone else have the problem with a nonresponsive keyboard in Pogo, especially after opening another window or profile?

Just so you know, it isn't just pogo that won't recognize Java, it's all of Safari.  So either Java or Apple will have to get with it and come up with some way to make the two compatable!!

And now, it suddenly is back to work. Just checked at java.com test page and it's working. My bank's website is working as well.

After some digging, I found that apple has used its "XProtect" feature to remotely disable java on all macs. Aparrently, they reverted their decision during last weekend.

Follow some useful information about XProtect and a way to disable that:

Spent some time trying to resolve this too, but couldn't get it to work.

I downloaded Firefox (a different browser than Safari). It works fine on there.

PLaying Euchre on POGO right now

Apple Logo > system preferences > Java > *allow control panel to launch > security > lower the security settings at least to medium.

*im an apple tech and this is how i resolved the issue on a customers laptop.
