Activate/Deactivate USB connected device
Is there a terminal command that allows me to activate (or deactivate) a usb connected device if I know from system_profiler its Product ID and Vendor ID? Thanks.

Hi
What exact kind of USB device is it?
And if I may ask, hy would you want to disable it?
BDAqua:
Thanks for answering. I would like to know the OS-X command to turn ON/OFF any hardware device connected to the usb ports. Don't know if it is similar the the commands that exist in Linux. For this particular case I want to deactivate a web cam that I have connected to one of the ports. I need to do this because my virtualization program (VBox) can't capture it when it is in use by the host OS.

I suspect it would be akin to how it's done in Linux, but not sure how to do it in either.
Is it just the OSX grabbing the Cam, or some other SW?
BDAqua:
It is just OS-X grabbing the camera. No other S/W is running except VBox.
Well, there must be some video kext you can unload, but no idea what, but then, I doubt since it's a VM that the OS is going to "share" it's camera.
