I was sick of the "other" taking up space on my iphone 4s, so i used the trick where you swipe to delete all music on your phone, turn it off, and volia! You have 2gb+ more space cleared up, but after I did this most of the songs on my ipod wouldn't work and I had to do a restore. The other is taking up space on my phone again and I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of it the same way with the music on my phone working perfectly?

I don't use any of those apps, do i have to download it or something? This didn't really show me how to delete other. or how to fix my music not working on my iphone.
I had an issue with my iPhone 4s hogging over 5 gigs of data. I try restoring and nothing would fix the issue. It came down to simple deleting all the text and vids INCLUDING imessages. Then backing the data up. I went to 816 megs after that.
You would need to restore as new(not from a backup) to get rid of other. You would lose data and settings
