my iphone 4s got the error 11 when trying to update software while in itunes help!!

Did you try holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo. Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275

Hosts file of your computer is redirecting iTunes away from Apple servers.

Correct the file by removing all enties gs.apple.com, reboot and try again.

It is an entry in the Hosts file. It is not a file.

• Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
• Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. • Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

I found out how to fix it. This happened to me and I went to tiny umbrella, And clicked exit recovery. It worked
