Every time I put a DVD into my Macbook Pro Running 10.7.5 OSX the DVD is rejected. I am not exactly sure why this is the case. It is a DVD and not blue ray. I've trouble shot it a while and would appreciate it if anyone else may know what to do or provide suggestions.

It seems to play fine on my PS3. I've double checked that it is a DVD and not blue ray.

thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Try to reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Unfortunately, there's not too much you can do about that problem, because it looks like the SuperDrive is damaged. SuperDrives aren't the best DVD drives and they often fail, so I'm not surprised that your SuperDrive has failed. Now, you can take the MacBook Pro to an Apple Store or reseller to get the SuperDrive replaced, or buy an external optical drive and connect it to your computer when you want to use a CD or a DVD
