Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 and my Power Mac G5 Dual 2,3 GHz

Hi.

I am fully satisfied from my iMac 27 2,8 GHz i7. However, I also have a Power Mac G5 dual 2,3 GHz (late 2005). I bought a Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 with 512 Mb of vram from an user that sold every piece of its faulty Power Mac G5 2,5 GHz (late 2005, too). I would like to replace standard Nvidia GeForce 6600 graphic card with 256 Mb of vram. Unluckily, after I did fit it in my G5 I was not able to close its transparent plastic air deflector door: it seems that graphic card has a couple of fans fitted in the top, plus some big iron cables that use enough space.

Owner of dual 2,5 told me that he closed transparent plastic without problem with this Quadro card fitted in it so the question: 2,5 GHz unit mount a different air deflector? Can I mount the same deflector in my 2,3 GHz unit so that I will can close the door, too?

Another question: can I mount a SSD disk in my G5? I have one 250 GB SATA disk like boot disk and a second 1 GHz SATA disk. I would replace the boot disk with a SSD disk (60 GB or 120 GB). Since G5 has SATA 1 I have to find only SATA 2 SSD or SATA 3 work fine?

Thank you.

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), G5 dual 2,3 GHz (late 2005)

Thanks for your kind reply, BDAqua.

I did found a Samsung SSD 840 120 GB at interesting price. The problem is that it has a Sata III interface as well as almost all SSD disks available today. Do you think that it can work with old SATA I included in my G5? I understand that I will not benefice of full speed that SSD technology can offer, however I would replace my boot SATA disk that is noise and old now. Do you know if SATA III has different interface? I have to buy an adapter SATA III to SATA II/I or it's the same kind of connector (more fast obvious...)?

Thanks.

Update.... bad news. I bought a second hand (like new) Verbatim 64 GB SSD SATA II and I spent a full day installing drive, swapping from bay 1 to two cloning with Carbon Copy Cloner etc... without success. I tried also a fresh installation of Leopard on external Firewire then updated to 10.5.8 since starting from installation Leopard DVD SSD did not seen from System. My G5 start, Apple logo appear under it appear rolling gear and then apple logo disappear and appear a prohibited sign similar to parking prohibited signal and the fans start at full speed so I have to shut down may Mac holding the button on the case for some seconds...

I did repeat installation a couple of time without success. System profile report any trouble with this SSD fitted in "A upper" slot successfully partitioned with Apple Partition Map.
