Quick Time
When I try to open a WMV file I get an error message "Real Player cannot play this media file with the installed version of Quick Time (error-2048)". What's wrong?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 27" about 3 years old.

You need the Flip4Mac component to play Windows Media player formats with QuickTime.
