My Ipad Retina has stopped streaming TV programmes from Couch Tuner.

Hi all,

My Ipad Retina has stopped streaming TV programmes from Couch Tuner. It used to work with no difficulty at all. Now it keeps giving me a 'Failed operation' sign.

I can get it no problem at all on my Imac and on my Windows PC at work.

Has anybody any idea what the difficulty might be??

I'm missing my daily dose of Elementary

I'm afraid that didn't work either, I did the hard reset twice as well. I wonder if there is a problem with the software on the Ipad itself.

The trouble is I hate going into the Apple store as it's full of teenagers all on Facebook (and I'm not referring to the staff either, chuckle) and you can't get close to one of their Geniuses.

Any other ideas or suggestions as to what the problem might be or what I might try?

Many thanks

Paul

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I have tried Safari and Google Chrome (which Couch Tuner has said is their browser of choice for the Ipad) but neither seems to want to work.

Sorry to sound thick, but how would i go about emptying the cache on the Ipad??

Incidentally, sites like Iplay and ITVplayer as well as Youtube have no problem at all and stream beautifully so i know it's not my Virgin media Wi Fi connection either.

Thanks folks
