I have opened a CSV file in Numbers that has a "Time" column that for some reason shows the current date plus the time value I need - "March 21, 2013 11:24:00 AM" for example. The cell is formatted so that only the time portion is displayed. I want to copy this to a new table but only take the time, not the date. Is this possible?

I think I would make a new table and format the whoe table as text (so no data conversion happen), then open the CSV file in a text editor, select all, copy, then paste into the Numbers table that is formatted as text.
Thank you and pardon my ignorance but when I do that it puts all of the data into one column per row. How do I then separate it out to different columns again?
My bad... I think csv only IMPORTs properly (not by paste). To paste you will also have to replace all "," (commas) with tabs.
There is no such thing as a Time-Only cell format in Numbers. But you can create a text string from the Date & Time.
Let's say your date & time cells are in column B and are formatted to show only the time.
In another column you can use a formula =B & ""
Or, in another table it would be =Table 1::B & ""
This will make the time into a text string.
