Why is the send button grayed out when trying to send text with iMessage. Some of my contacts I can text with no problem the send button go blue. But other contacts the button stays gray. I use the same setting I have on my iPhone. Thanks in advance.

You can only Message with other iOS users and they have to be registered and set up to use Messages on their device before you can message with them. Are these other iOS users and have you messages with them before?

Also check that you have this in the Settings for messages .... Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. Make sure that it is set to Off.
