We had a screen break on an ipod touch 2gen ios 4.2.1 device.I can still plug it in to itunesit is just the touchscreen that is broke. I bought a used touch - same model. Now how can i move everything, apps and all to the new (to me) device?

No sweat. Simply connect to the same computer that you used to sync and backup the old one. The iTunes s/w will "know" that it's a different device. Then, configure the iTunes sync characgteristics the same way that they were configured for the old iPod.

Also since the current version of many apps in the App store ar not compatible with your 2G iPod:
Delete all apps that are on your iPod from your iPod and then transfer then from the iPod to the computer by:

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
