had you owned a previous computer and you imported data to it?
If you only want one, hover your pointer over Desktop 2 and click on the ⊗

Thanks to den.thed. That was too easy. I recently upgraded to OS10.8 and find it quite different from Snow Leopard. But it looks like there is a lot of help on this site. Thanks again to all.
I sort of have an iMac... it is really a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 (A1278) connected to a Thunderbolt Display and when I close it, I have an iMac sorta... 😎 look at my username AThunderboltDisplayAndAMacBook 😝 _
I cant find the symbol mentioned in the replyhere, the circle with X in it. Not on either of the two desktops.
