Why won't my DVD play on he Apple TV? Instead it shows a white & gray checker pattern?
I am trying to play a rented DVD from my MacBook Pro thru APPLE TV or Air Play. Can all DVD's be played thru Air Play?

it's the dvd's encryption which block it from being send over an unencrypted connection where it could be copied without the DRM could block it
it's 100% by design
that in mind people repport it works on the media player program called VLC which I suppose then breaks the encryption though it's not legal
