Q: iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

Just checked some screenshots of my usage, that I'd taken when I moved back to my iPhone 5.

    5 hours 32 usage.

    14 hours 29 standby.

48% battery left!! Incredible battery life.

Then since 6.1.3 I've been getting 4-5 hours max usage. Which is terrible. Considering usage time isn't actually accurate and the time goes up even when it's in standby.

I was kicked out of the forum for a week..lol. Apple doesn't like what I say. But to everyone having problems with 6.1.3 you will have to wait for the next update this month. Fingers crossed that 6.1.4 will fix the battery problem, like 6.1.2 had good battery life, not great, but good....better than 6.1.4 Apple is working on a fix, Apple is aware off the number off people that have been affected by this update, so Apple is getting its tech team to fix it.

Took some time because 6.1.3 was a slow moving update. 6.1.2....millions of downloads the first couple days. If you want to try some of the fix yourself...go for it. But my option is that nothing is gonna work. It's the firmware. Be patient and don't give up on Apple.

Please don't edit my post....thank you.

If you haven't updated to 6.1.3? I would wait for the next update. Seeing how this update has some problems, stay away from it!!!

Me too.....this month. Just try and get through it, and lets hope this update fixes the battery. I'm sure Apple is doing the best job, we have all seen Apple surprise us, I think this next update will put the fun back into using all idevices and not worry about the battery.

Gotta say it again, I knew it was the firmware, and I knew Apple would respond to it. Unlike some others negative thoughts...lol fingers still crossed this next update will be one big problem GONE! Battery drain-O

Just a thought. I use Chrome as my main browser. Which has a sync feature. I've turned it off and disconnected my account, just incase.

I've got 30 minutes usage, 1 hour 20 minutes standby and I'm still on 100%. This is how it performed prior to this recent battery issue.

The only changes I've made are to turn off Chrome syncing from within the Chrome browser settings and turned off Push for everything.

I guess the rest of the day will be very telling. I've got my fingers crossed, as besides the battery issues, I adore the phone.

UPDATE: After 40 minutes of usage, my phone finally went down to 99%! Good going.

I've got an hour usage and 95% battery left. 2 hours standby. Yesterday it would have been on 80% by now.

It's worth double checking your Push settings and turning off sync in Chrome if you have it installed. (even if you're not actively using it).

4 hours usage. 11 hours standby. 60% battery left.

I consider this issue fixed for me. I'm just not sure which of the changes had the effect. Please try both and report back. I don't expect this will fix it for everybody but worth a shot.
