Q: iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3

You do realize that 99% of those blogs look at the apple forums (here) for their information? You will see direct quotes from these forums. There is really little merit for new information other than what is already posted here. So google search for this doesnt really say anything. Reminds me of the state farm commercial. "They cant put anything on the internet that isn't true", "Where you hear that?", "The internet"

Also jajaba is dead on with the grand scheme numbers. A million with a battery issue (which probably there are not even that many) is nothing compared to the number of devices out there with no issue.  Also if you think about it, if this were completely an iOS issue you really think Apple would release a speaker phone fix that no one was even aware of and just brush off a real battery issue within the OS that is huge as you state? I think not.

iOS 6.1.2 & 6.1.3 are problems. With the same settings, my battery % is going crazy. I haven't changed or added anything, yet on iOS 6.0 I had no issues. A quick look on Google will tell you I'm not crazy. People aren't crazy.

Waiting on the "iOS 6.1.4 speaker update causes massive battery drain for all users with iOS devices" thread. I'm sure  whatever they changed in speaker will kill the battery and create new blog and news articles.

"Apple new iOS 6.1.4 speaker update makes iPhone users battery only last 10 minutes now! Read more details below"

Is "exchange account" a function on the iPhone 4S or only on the 5?  I cannot find it as suggested above.  TY

That is good, still need improvement. I used to get 10 hours before I started to see a decrease from a 100 percent. Apple knows what it is doing. But you have people ready to jump when things are not right or talk trash.

I'm not talking about Blogs. The first major hit on Google talking about Battery Drain 6.1.3 is CNET.

And yes. I think apple would release a speakerphone update knowing that there is a battery drain issue.

Just like they knew there was an antenna issue with the iPhone 4 and sold it to me anyway.

    42 minutes on 100%?

No smartphone on planet earth can be used for nearly an hour and be at 100%.

Maybe 42min standby and it didn't drop? Is that what you're saying? Is this with all features on? Data on?

I doubt that you're using an iPhone 5 "tough" for 7:20hrs. Give me your phone. You'll see it dead in about 5 hours.

There are guys here who turn on Data only when they want to do something. So, they take out their phones 50 times a day to see if they have any messages.

As usual. This is what happens.

Users have a problem. It's obviously not anyone's fault. Just iOS *****. So, they come here. They say their batteries die too fast after they updated to iOS 6.1.3.

So what's the first thing fanboys do? They blame the user. They say, well, it's your settings. No. It's Chrome. No. It's your emails. You're holding it wrong. Well, i get WONDERFUL battery life, so it must be you. Etc etc.

    Makes me sick.

Even though they weren't having an issue before the update, all of a sudden it's their settings or their apps. Or they need to reset this and that.

I thought the iPhone was supposed to be easy to use.

    6.1.3 is nuts.

How do you explain my phone going from 100% to 99% in 3 minutes on Facebook. Then I restart the phone. Now it's at 100% and it stays at 100% 16 more minutes?

    This started happening since 6.1.2.

You're telling me its my settings? My apps? I need to reset? I need to restore? All which I've done countless times.

Ios has a problem. Apple won't fix it. Why? Because iOS 7 is coming soon. They'll fix it then. In the meantime we are screwed.

Nowadays, in the era of social networking and chat and LINE and Whatsapp and push news and all that, it seems like every app is pushing something to your phone. Lots of them anyway.

That's a real iOS FAIL if we have to kill all social and chat apps and turn off push just to get an (almost) day out of an iPhone.

So we are back at square 1. iOS blows.

The Nokia 720 costs half of the price and you can have your push and Facebook and all that stuff turned on and gives you a day and a half of heavy use.

Not one person has claimed it's the users fault. So be quiet and stop talking rubbish!

    @Thai_iPhony4

"notice all the users coming here and complaining...I'm not crazy after all am I?"

You moronic idiot!  Scroll to the top of page and read the stats!  There have been a total of 792 Users who have posted a reply on this forum over 7 weeks!  That doesn't even account for users who have posted more than once (like you)!  So if you think the fact that 700 users complaining out of 200,000,000 is significant then yes you really are crazy!  That's .000003% of 6.1.3 users.  LMAO once again.
