Could not connect to this iPad. An unknown error occurred (OXE8000024).

My iPad 2 was acting a little funny so i reset using home & power buttons......now all that is displayed is a white apple or a bluish screen.

When connected to iTunes via laptop either it is not recognized at all .... or .... iTunes error message---Could not connect to this iPad. An unknown error occurred (OXE8000024) is displayed. When disconnected and reconnected sometimes it is recognized and sometimes it isn't.

It has been charged for over 8 hours with no change in status.

Various USB ports have been used with no change in status.

iTunes is updated to the latest version.

Laptop updates/windows are current.

It seems to be stuck in a vicious cycle. All help is appreciated!
