MBP internet

Hi everyone, I have a MBP running Mountain Lion. All of a sudden it appears I cannot log on to the internet. WiFi works and othe devices, iPad3, iPhone and desktop Win7 get the internet, not my MBP. Ideas?

Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.

System Preferences>Network

Click the Assist Me button.

In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

Research ML KB Articles that pertain to network and/or wi-fi problems. Read all the ones that pertain to your problem.

Also, run the Airport Utility app which is located inside the Utilities folder.

If using a Linksys router, contact LinkSys Customer Support and/or post in their forums.

If using Apple's Airport, please re-post over in one of the AirPort Forums.

Thanks BB,

What I did was :-

System Pref - Network - WiFi - Assist me - Diagnostics - Select location. In 'Select location' was about 5 different locations, one of which was 'Automatic' I changed the location to Automatic and the MBP went onto the net fine. Is there anyway I can remove the other locations that are redundant, yet the MBP somehow defaulted to one of them.

Thanks,

Mike.

System Preferences>Network>Advanced button>Wi-Fi - Using the minus button "-" and start deleting/removing all unnecessary networks.

Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

Click the OK button.

Click the Apply button.

Lock the padlock.
