Color Palette missing options.

In 10.8.3, I no longer have the lozenge button in the upper right either. Could you check on your ML system and see if you still have it there? I'm OK because I still have the color picking option buttons, but I don't have any option to hide them or show them, they're just there all the time.

Edit: I wonder if the OP had the options turned off when upgrading to ML and now can't change back to showing the options. Edit again: I see the OP shows Lion 10.7.5, but we can't always trust that either...

On my ML system, the Toolbar viewing option in the Pages menu has no effect on the Colors Window. Here's an example:

You can see that I've hidden the Toolbar in Pages and it didn't affect Colors.

I wonder if another ML user could try to reproduce this behavior...

Scratch that last post. If the Focus in on the Colors Window, the Pages View > Hide/Show Toolbar will control the Colors Window Toolbar. I must have inadvertently moved the focus back to the Pages Window the last time I tested.

Bottom line, pay attention to where the focus is.

Click on the palette to activate it. You should get a small button up the the right. Click on the button and you'll get the tool bar where you can choose which colour tool to use.

Make sure the Colors Window is "Selected" by clicking on it. Then type Command-Option-T to reinstate the Toolbar to the Colors Window.

Could you post a screen shot of your Colors Pane?

I suspect you have dragged in your Colors window so the button is no longer visible.

Try enlarging it.

No lozenge on my 10.7.5 either (but all options showing). I had not noticed the change...

I guess the old lozenge has been replaced by View > Show/Hide Toolbar
