My other has 532 GB how do I reduce them
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Run Omnidisksweeper and find out where these large files and folders are. Then decide what you want to do with them.

Movie files (m4v) = Movies
Music files (m4a) = Music
Pictures (iphoto) = Pictures
MAS downloads = Apps
Backup.dbs = Backups
If not listed above? then = Other
A lot of stuff can be in "Other" and you need a bunch of it (like OS X itself).
Take some time to right click on various folders and do a "Get info". How big is your home directory? If you are at 532, then most of that...like 90%+... should be in your home folder. Now move to the home folder and do some house keeping.

my 1st thought was a TimeMachine deferred backup, and want to look at the "./Volumes/" listing
