What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

Well the precise text is as follows: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available."

    Many thanks, that's perfect.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the /___sbsstatic___/migration-images/189/18990253-1.gif "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)

    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.

    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Well I followed your instructions but was unable to downoad the  Windows Installer CleanUp utility. I was advised that it had been "Disscontinued".  I even attempted the msicuu2.exe to no avail.

I'm going nuts here! But thankyou for your help.

Walk us through what happened in more detail, please.

I tried to uninstall all apple programs, then I tried to download itunes again and I got the same "CD" message.  I also went to Major Geek again and tried to download the CleanUp utility. But I can't get the utility.

Now I am triing to uninstall again and I get a message from Microsoft:  "The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

But I can't get the utility.

Do you get an error message when you try to install the utility? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)
