I'm new to iPad and am planning a 16 hour flight to Australia. Can you charge an iPad on an airplane? What kind of cable do I use? Thanks!

I gues that would depend on the airline and what they offer.
There is the travel bundle available in the apple on line store. Don't know if that would containg what you need, but has many charging and plug adaptors.

A battery pack would be your best bet. the company Zagg makes some that work for iPads. I haven't ever been on a flight to australia, but the last flight to the UK I was on, the only place you had power was in business or first class.
