I have never heard of a sysex document. where is the sysex info stored? is it in a standard midi file? is it in a text document? how did you access it before?
Like for instance:
i need to update an OS of my alesis sound module
so i download the syx from the web site,
and i do as the manual tells me :
"open the syx with a sequencer program (can be logic or any other)
use the midi Out (sequncer/computer)to the MIDI in of the module
and run the sequencer, and the module will be updated "
but the problem is when i run logic and import the file syx. logic says
"SYX file imported not yet implemented "
I do not believe that Logic handles this sort of thing. You need another program like Sysex Librarian (for the Mac) to send sysex files to external midi devices.
I believe the drag and drop method as mentioned above will work. I also think sysex information can be in a midi .mid file, and make sure all other midi units are off that you don't want affected before you start.
