How do I delete a photo album???

iPad 3, everything is the current software.

I have a couple albums and events I synced from my iPhoto library on my iMac.

I can't delete them.

I have tried unchecking them, have tried unchecking all albums, have tried unsyncing photos, have deleted the iPod cache in the iPhoto library multiple times, have restarted both the computer & iPad, .....

I can't get rid of them...it's crazy.

Should not be this difficult.
