I am thinking of using Good Reader instead of IBooks to read PDFs. I sometimes need to annotate, but iBooks doesn't have that feature. Does Good Reader work seamlessly with Mail?

I have good reader, and I have to say, it's a decent app. If you have a bit more money you could look into an app like PDF Expert which is $9.99 in the App Store. The only complaints i have about good reader is that when you are selecting, the blue selected area goes berserk quite often. Also page turning can be a bit laggy. But you can annotate anywhere on the page and do pretty much anything except draw i think, so it's a good app in that sense. But again, if you have a couple extra bucks, go with PDF Expert.

Thanks for the info! I am using iBooks to store song lyrics and chords in pdf format (about 350 of them---that's why I bought an iPad) but have been frustrated because I can't make notations on them. Someone told me about Good Reader so I decided to ask the forum. I appreciate your feedback.

Still haven't gotten PDF Expert; I had to do some work first with my Apple account. A question: Do I keep my music in iBooks or should I move the whole library into Expert? Or does Expert "grab" the PDF that needs annotating, and then put it back?
You should be able to grab your files from iBooks in PDF Expert. But if you can't if you have them in google docs or Dropbox you can get them from there in PDF Expert or straight in safari or mail you can get the file and press open in PDF Expert. Wether you move your library into PDF Expert or keep the un annotated ones in iBooks with the annotated ones in PDF Expert is up to you and what you want, but you can have them in both.
I wasn't able to grab a PDF from Books---I had to email it to myself. Because of that, there is no "bridge" between the two, something I was hoping to have. Do you know of a way to grab a PDF from Books? Too bad Books doesn't have their own annotating feature...
Not any besides emailing them. It is bad they dont have a bridge but its only a couple seconds longer emailing it if you have decent internet. Sorry about that.

Oh, yes! The app itself works great, although it might be a bit of over-kill for my particular needs. Very easy to use from what I could see. I fiddled around with it a little. I like how you can actually "write" in it!
Yup, GoodReader doesn't have the actual write feature where you can draw. Sorry i couldnt help you with the bridge part, however.
