This is the message I see when I click on the icon for TM backup. No idea what it means.
The backup disk image “/Volumes/deborah nixon's Time Capsul/deborah nixon’s MacBook Pro.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1).

That could be saying your Time Capsule's Backup drive is not visible on the Network.

I had my external drive drop out after a power failure. It does not do auto power-on.
I don't understand your question. Which network are you referring to?
The Network (WiFi and possible Ethernet) that runs inside your house, provided by your Base Station with attached external drive.

It should show up in the Finder sidebar under the "Shared" Heading.

Thanks. Seems it was set to off... Not sure how that happened. I don't recall going in and doing that.But it seems to be doing something- verifying backup. Likely cycling through the process. Appreciate the help. Hope it works. But I will also read article.
