how to convert all music to MP3

Hi all you MAC Users out there,

I was trying to think when the last time I had to call or write in. I think it was 1985 on the how could anyone in those days forget the never changing old 800 number.

I know some of you die-hards remember those days and that Apple SOS number!

I bought new heasgear for my wheels and it holds a ton more if they are MP3.

Most of Tunes are already convered to MP3 of which I myself never did. Some of my Tunes are already MP3, but some are not.

Could someone send me a link to the place explaining how to switch convert them over?

Many thanks for you time and help.

There are instructions on this page for how to convert them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550

If you have iTunes 11 then see this page instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12167 (and here for instructions for a PC)

But basically you need to go into Edit > Preferences (control-comma on a Mac), and on the General tab click on the Import Settings button and change it to MP3, and potentially change the bit rate as well - the lower the bit rate the less space that a track will take up, but it will also affect the quality.

Then exit Preferences and select the tracks that you want to convert and control-click (right-click on a PC) on a highlighted track and select 'create MP3 version' on the popup (or instead of control-clicking you can use the File > Create New Version menu option instead) - it should then go through and create new versions of each of the tracks that you had highlighted (the non-MP3 version will remain in your library)
