ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it.
Do you know how you can identify it as a emea phone?
Please define "emea".
Check it out against this
"Europe Middle East Africa "
I suspected as much, but I fail to see how that relates to iPhones in any way... Especially since Apple considers each of those a separate region. Unless the OP is just looking for a way to diferentiate US phones from "everything else"...
probably ..................😉
wait for next question
Thanks Peter so are you saying any iphone which is capable of using lte is a emea phone.
I am only asking about this as i am trying to get the phone unlocked and there is what is known as emea unlock which is quite quick and easy.
ONLY the carrier the phone is locked to can unlock it. NO ONE ELSE can legitimately do that.
I suspect "emea" is not the correct acronym you are looking for.
if you do a search on the web its a emea unlock is common.
I just want the phone unlocked
It may be common, but it is still illegal.
As you've already been told: ONLY the carrier the phone is locked to can legally authorize unlocking it. Contact the carrier it is locked to.
I have already been to supplier and that will take three months.
There is no reason to be rude!!!!!!!!!!!
Then you already have your answer. Continuing to ask it will not alter reality.
Did you succeed?
My iphone 5s is locked against the EMEA service. This was an agreement between Apple and my original provider Orange. The lock should have only been active for the period of my contract which ended in February 2016.
Salt help:
In the meantime, Orange changed to Salt in Switzerland. When I called Salt, they said it has nothing to do with them. They refuse to provide me with anything in writing - their contact form online does not work and they don't have a customer service email address.
Apple help:
I went to the Apple store in Toronto and they gave me a screenshot of my phone details - locked against EMEA service with no future change to this lock. They were really nice but they said that only my provider can remove this lock.
Obviously I am getting nowhere. I have tried twitter too - obviously everyone goes silent when no one has an answer
Can anyone help?
