Mar 23, 2013 8:05 AM in response to instructor1gby mende1,You are referring to Dock. To make it permanent on the screen, open System Preferences > Dock, and unmark "Automatically hide and show the Dock"

Mar 23, 2013 8:08 AM in response to instructor1gby Steve Holton,I assume you mean the Dock.
Try any of these:
Select the Apple symbol in left end of the menu bar.
Select Dock.
Select Turn Hiding Off.
or
In Sys Prefs. Dock uncheck "Automatically hide & show the Dock"
or
Cmd-Alt-D

Mar 23, 2013 8:31 AM in response to instructor1gby instructor1g,Thank you for your reply, but I don't mean the dock on the bottom, I'm talking about the toolbar on the top. When I move my mouse it disappears, when I bring my mouse back up there it reappears. I want it to stop doing that.

Mar 23, 2013 8:33 AM in response to instructor1gby mende1,I think you have put an app in full-screen mode. To get out of full-screen mode, move the cursor to the top right of the display and press the blue rectangle, so the application will be showed as a window again

Mar 23, 2013 11:52 AM in response to instructor1gby drdocument,What apps are you currently running?
A currently running app will have a small blue bubble under its icon in the Dock and when you position the cursor over the Dock icon the app's name will appear.

Mar 23, 2013 12:43 PM in response to drdocumentby instructor1g,Not running any of the above. Let me explain what happens:
As I wrte this, I can see my 3 color radio buttons, the small book (show all bookmarks) and the 9 small squares that shows top sites. Next to that I have some of my favorite sites that I click onto. To the right there is an arrow pointing to the right which shows more bookmarks. To the right of that is the plus sign to create a new tab. Above the plus sign are two arrows, one going up, the other down. When I click on that, the forward and backward arrows appear, my mail icon, printer icon, cloud, plus a couple of others then i hvae the tool bar where I can type in a web address (www.). When I bring my mouse to above that, my apple, Safari, File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Window and Help return. To the right of that is the sound control date, blue tooth symbol, date, spotlight and the two arrows going up and down. What I'm looking to do is not have it disappear anymore. Anyone who can help, it would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Mar 23, 2013 12:51 PM in response to instructor1gby Barney-15E,When you click on the up/down arrows, do they back-highlight in blue? If so, then you are in Full Screen Mode. The menu bar will disappear in that mode. If you click those blue up/down arrows again, you will leave Full Screen and the Menu bar should stay visible.
So, if you do that, and are out of Full Screen, does the menu bar come back?
If you restart, does it fix it?
If that doesn't help, can you boot into Safe Mode and see if everything works correctly?
