Mailbox says I have JUNK Mail....but can't view it

Okay....My junk mailbox will tell me in quotes next to JUNK that I have so many messages in there.....when I go to read/view/see what's in the junk mailbox nothing shows up in there. I can see my IN/SENT/TRASH messages but not junk messages.....

Using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account).

Within a POP account named folder for Jaguar or Panther Mail should be mbox files with an .mbox extension, a MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded file and NO folders.

Confirm there is a Junk.mbox file and not a Junk named folder. If a Junk folder, quit the Mail.app first and change the name of the Junk folder to Junk.mbox or add the .mbox extension.

Launch Mail and this should resolve the problem.

This can occur with Jaguar or Panther Mail when changing Junk from Automatic to Training and back to Automatic which you should never do since there is no reason or benefit gained when doing so.
