Keyboard issues when using firefox

Help!

I'm computer savvy being geek at heart but I am having some difficulties with my keyboard working with in firefox. I am on the latest version of Firefox and java. However 2 months ago I started to notice that when I would attempt to type or use the shortcut commands with my MacBook Pro with in Firefox it wouldn't recognize what I was doing. Like typing this I can be in the middle of a sentence and then I am locked out typing until I click out of the text box and then back into it. Same thing with the cmd+v or c copy paste I am locked out until I click out of the text box and then click back in. Then starting about a week ago I noticed that it would skip some letters as i type. More than simply typo. This issue is limited to Firefox as far as I can tell. Any suggestions? Is it something I will just have to live with? Or should I make a genus appt?

Thanks!!!!!

Does this occur in any other browser or program, or is it specific to Firefox?

Does it only occur on some web sites and not others?

Have you tried with add-ons disabled? Help > Start with add-ons disabled = FF safe mode.

Have you uninstalled all add-ons, uninstall Firefox and then reinstalled Firefox and then add-ons one at a time to try to isolate the issue?

If the issue is no only in Firefox, then perhaps it's a software issue with your machine

perhaps some outdated keyboard or other third party software

..Step by Step to fix your Mac

Sometimes creating another User account helps isolate if it's a "in user account" or a further problem.

If it's a OS X problem then reinstalling OS X over itself may fix it.

If you can't find the problem, install OS X on a external drive and boot from it.

Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive

If the problem is also there, then it's likely a hardware issue and worthy of attention from Apple.

Unless you finally Erase and Install OS X and the problem continues will they consider this a hardware issue, but so far it seems to be a software issue or a too bloated OS X on a old machine type issue.

Some have been complaining that the later OS X verisons are a bit slow in their typing resposnse time

That's just it... they're mistaking clicking the wrong buttons. No one's asking for anything other than for noobs not to make basic mistakes like that. It's pretty pathetic any way you look at it. It's pretty obvious ds store suggested the add-on uninstall and there's nothing outside of that that was done by the OP to indicate in their last post to warranty the self-awarding of the points. What makes it worse is that those awarded points are a waste because you can't self-accumulate points on your own questions, no matter if you do have the right answer or not. It's a pretty basic mistake made by a ton of people new to this system and I don't think Apple goes far enought to explain the process to new joiners.

So you want points. Big woop! It's discussion board.

I did respond to Ds Store and I did thank him if you followed the discussion it wasn't until I hit "this helped me" button (which I assumed would give the oh so precious points to Ds Store) which moved my reply to my post. Instead of getting angry or frustrated with noobs to this discussion board why don't you go ask Apple who designed this board and give them a hard time. Instead of trying to have a conversation about me on my discussion board knowing that I can read your post and reply to them.

It's not all about the points...I'm sure a lot of people on here are like my self and could give a rats butt about the points! What is important to myself and many of the people on here is to find the answer and I did and I hope that my post helps someone else. So Ds Board my apologies for not awarding you the points. If you would like you can post a smiley face on this board and I will push the "this help me button". And to you SwankPeRFection...go get a life.
