How will two factor security work?

I am all for increased security, but not if using it is ownerous. I have seen conflicting information and can't find a clear Apple statement. What I want to know are these items:

#1 In the event I wish to opt out and return to the current system, will that be possible?

#2 I apprecaite the value of 2 factor identification of specific devices (iPhones, PCs, etc.) before use for purchases - but will a user have to go through the 2 factor process for each app purchased from the MAS or iTunes?

Yes, you can turn it off - there are instrutions here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5631

The info about it says that it will be used for a purchase from a new device, so I take that as being similar to how security questions are currently asked on the first purchase from a new device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
